No crafts or art work to speak of at the moment... So here are a few of my owls...

My very favorite... it actually belongs to matt, but currently hangs in my kitchen... a little wood owl, I'm not sure how old it is, but I'm guessing that it's around my age...

One of my favorites... Picked these up at the 400 mile yard sale.

I am seriously going to be better at blogging... I have just been so incredibly busy. I've moved... again.. closer to the down town area this time. I like my new apartment a lot better... it's a two bedroom and has a larger kitchen. I really have an art room now... which is nice. I've been painting today... nothing is finished yet but I have some ideas that are going to be awesome once i get a chance to put my ideas into motion.

I have a new job, a real job... working for an ecommerce company. I also work at a folk art gallery, that I absolutely love.... that's only on Saturdays... I don't have to have a 2nd job anymore... but art is such a huge part of my life right now that i want to be there.

I'm working on a painting right now and I'll post pictures just as soon as it's completed...

Okay I'm still alive... I haven't had time to really work on anything because I've been broke and working 3 jobs and then cleaning an office on top of that... but here I am...

Okay so I have this amazing guy in my life and he is making jewelry...

He made this amazing ring for me from a spoon that belonged to my grandmother...

Almost everything he makes is out of silver plated silverware...

Here are a few bracelets:

This fork is holding a stone called a Blue Goldstone

I think you would refer to this knife as a preserves knife... It's probably my favorite

These are just a FEW of the bracelet designs he has...

He has some necklace pendants as well:

This is a citris spoon with a wired in stone... I think it's gorgeous

This is his peapod style pendant I'm not sure what the purple stone is it's a little dark to be amethest, but I know the other is quartz...

Okay those are just a few of my favorites... He hasn't posted all of the pictures yet, but he is working on it right now you can check out his myspace....

I'm still around... I have officially moved into the city...eek. What is a country girl like myself to do? Seriously... i have never lived somewhere where I can't walk through fields whenever I feel low... I gave the house up to Scott and got a apartment. I do like Chattanooga so far, I just miss the familiarity of the small town. Next week is my last week at work... I have to find a job like today... haha. I'm going back to school so I'll be working as a server for a while. I have 5 years serving experience and 2 in accounting. I'm going back as a biology major (my previous major was nursing with a minor in finance) I can hopefully graduate in december....then I might move again. We'll just have to see.

I'm still working in dayton (Tennessee- don't get it twisted!)... yeah driving an hour to work is not cool... here's why I love dayton:

My lunch today... it doesn't really look as huge as it was...two chili dogs with slaw and chili cheese fries...yummy. Haha and the funny thing is I have lost a lot of weight. Haha I really can't eat this much... I didn't even eat half... I just got excited haha.

Latest project...Teddy Bear... he is in the process of being stuffed now, yay!

I've been missing since April... sorry. Scott & I have ended our relationship and so I've been going through stuff... to say the least. I'm in the process of moving and trying to get my name off of our mortgage. It's complicated our relationship has been over for the past year and we've just been waiting on someone to step up and say something. I ended the relationship mid-April and I'm working to get on with my life.

Things happen for a reason & I'm happy. Obviously all of my projects have been on the back burner. I've been out riding motorcycles, watching movies, seeing friends I haven't seen in forever and all of the things I couldn't do before.

I'm probably moving the first week of June and then I should be set up to work on crafts by mid June...

Wedding Favor Boxes

I got this wedding craft in an email from Better Homes & Gardens this week. I think these boxes are just adorable. You could always make one of these little boxes for a tiny gift, a gift card, or a favor at a party.

What You Need:

2 12 x 12-inch sheets of coordinating floral scrapbook papers
Glue stick
Box template right and opposite
Scissors or crafts knife
Small scallop decorative-edge scissors (for cracker and cake boxes)
Large scallop decorative-edge scissors(for scallop box)

Instructions:

1. Download the free patterns for this project (Downloading requires Adobe Acrobat software).

2. Use a glue stick to mount two sheets of scrapbook paper with wrong sides facing. Trace the cracker, scallop, or cake box template right and opposite onto the papers.

3. Cut out the favor box along the solid lines using scissors. Use scallop decorative-edge scissors for cutting out the scallop edges.

4. Fold the box along the dotted lines. Use a glue stick to overlap the box edges.

Painted the rain gauge...and then my cat knocked it off the table and it broke...eek. I meant to take progress shots and that didn't happen...oops. I painted a base coat of brown acrylic (2 coats) and then dry brushed on some gold. I was going to seal it, but the accident occured before the gold paint dried sooo.

Somehow I knew it was going to happen...and why does my camera not take pictures up close...ugh. The flash really picks up the gold in the picture (not to mention the paint isn't dry yet), it's actually a lot more low key in real life.

I'm sorry that I've not been very good at updating. I was sick and then I just started going through some "stuff." So, I have big plans for working on a couple projects this weekend. My mom bought some rain gauges for 10 cents- 10 cents. Crazy! They're ceramic (I think) or whatever they make non-concrete lawn ornaments out of nowadays. The only thing is they're painted in wild colors. The one I got is a mushroom with a little fat bird sitting underneath it. It's too cute, but I have to paint it before I put it outside. I'm planning on painting it this weekend. I'm debating on what painting treatment to do on it....either my favorite ...brown and gold, which makes it look all old. Or a beige then clearcoated and add moss...hmm...I guess we'll just have to see-

Once again apologies for my absence I will return with pictures...I'm still working on that teddy bear. The material I'm using is soooo thick and I don't feel comfortable running it through my machine...all by hand takes a looooong time.
